Approval of the type of a measuring instrument in Belarus
Approval of the type of measuring instrument — the decision of the authorized body to authorize the use of an approved type of measuring instrument on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of positive results of work on metrological assessment.
The peculiarity of the type approval of measuring instruments and reference samples
According to the Law of the Republic of Belarus of September 5, 1995 No. 3848-XII "On ensuring the uniformity of measurements", measuring instruments that are objects of state metrological control are subject to type approval before being put into circulation.
The type approval is subject to measuring instruments intended for use in the field of legal metrology and specified in the list of categories of measuring instruments from the resolution of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus dated 04/20/2021 No. 39.
For measuring instruments used outside the scope of legal metrology, the approval of the type of measuring instrument is voluntary.
